Soft Tissue Treatment

Soft Tissue Treatment refers to techniques designed to manage injuries, alleviate pain, and eliminate dysfunction in the soft tissues of the body such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. The techniques that we use at Longevity are Myofascial Release, Massage, Cup Therapy, and Stretching among others.

WHAT DO Soft Tissue TREATMENTS ACCOMPLISH?

Soft Tissue Treatment can produce several beneficial effects that optimize your healing process. These treatments can:

  1. Increase blood flow to the treated area, which can improve the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues as well as removal of waste products. This increased circulation will promote tissue healing and help to reduce inflammation.
  2. Stimulate the nervous system, which can help to reduce pain perception and increase the production of endorphins and other natural pain-relieving chemicals. This can result in pain relief and an increased sense of well-being.
  3. Remodel fascia tissue, often referred to as adhesions, scar tissue, or entrapments. These often restrict or alter movement resulting in pain and dysfunction. By remodeling the fascia, Soft Tissue Treatment can help restore normal movement patterns and improve overall function.
  4. Relax the body, reduce muscle tension, and promote a sense of calm and relaxation. This can help to reduce stress and promote overall wellness.

Exercise

At Longevity, Functional Exercise refers to an exercise protocol that is designed to enhance your overall experience within sport or every-day activities. Customized specific to you, we’ll address your areas of weakness whether that’s a need to increase strength, optimize balance, enhance mobility, or improve coordination. Additionally, Functional Exercise includes movements that mimic the real-life physical demands you experience in order to optimize your movement, reduce the likelihood of injuries, as well as improve overall fitness and athletic performance.
